Steps For Creating Wifi Hotspot In Ubuntu

OPTION 1

1. Ensure ethernet cable is connected from laptop ethernet port to MODEM port of KFON Device.

2. Ensure the internet is available on the PC.

3. Download WiFi_Hotspot.zip from the below link

CLICK HERE

4. Right click on WiFi_Hotspot.zip file click on “Extract Here”

5. Open extracted folder and double click on install.sh file and click on “Run in terminal”

(Please note that the install.sh file should have “Allow executing file as a program” Permission as shown in the below figure)

6.Now the program will be installed.

7. After completion of successful installation shortcuts for creating and deleting hotspot

will show under Accessories menu.

Click on “ Create Wifi Hotspot” it will ask the name for wifi Hotspot, enter desired name.

then it will ask for password then enter a password with minimum 8 character 

( Please note down this name and password)

Now the hotspot is ready for share on other laptops.

Now from other laptops search for wifi and enter a password.

For deleting wifi hotspot click on “Delete wifi Hotspot” from the menu.

OPTION 2

1. Download the script from below link

2. Unzip the file 

3. run/execute the create_wifi_hotspot.sh script in Terminal.

4.Click on “ Create Wifi Hotspot” it will ask the name for wifi Hotspot, enter desired name.

Now the hotspot is ready for share on other   laptops.

KFON Modem Configuration in Windows

1. Ensure ONT(modem) Power LED and internet LED status is glowing.

2.Ensure one end of the Ethernet cable is connected to ONT port labeled as

GbE-2 (for Tejas TJ2100-11G ONT)

LAN-1 or LAN2 ( for Alphion AONT-1420)

2. Press “Windows + R” key from windows PC keyboard. 

Then type “ncpa.cpl” in the Run window and click ok.

Network connections window will open.

3. Right Click on the Ethernet interface (LAN) and select the properties icon as shown in the fig below

4. Select Internet Protocol version 4(TCP/IPv4) and click on properties to configure the Static IP.

5. Refer to KFON IP details from the site https://kite.kerala.gov.in/broadband/

select appropriate radio button. Then type school code.You can see ip address, subnet mask,default gateway etc

6. * Select “Use the following IP address” radio button. Enter IP address, subnet mask,

* Default gateway as shown in the figure

* Select “Use the following DNS server addresses” radio button. Enter DNS information as shown in the figure.

* Click on OK button to save

7. Ensure the check box for “Client for Microsoft Networks” is enabled as shown in the fig.

Testing:

1. Press “Windows + R” key from windows PC keyboard. Type “cmd” in the Run window and click ok.

2. “ping 8.8.8.8 -t” to check internet reachability.

1. കെ ഫോൺ മോഡത്തിലെ power, internet എന്നിവയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട ലൈറ്റ് കത്തുന്നു എന്ന് ഉറപ്പ് വരുത്തുക

2.താഴെ ലിങ്കിൽ ക്ലിക്ക് ചെയ്ത് ലഭിക്കുന്ന വിവരങ്ങൾ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തുക.(സ്ക്രീൻഷോട്ട് എടുക്കുക)

ഐ പി അഡ്രസ് ,ഗേറ്റ് വേ , സബ് നെറ്റ് മാസ്ക് എന്നീ വിവരങ്ങൾ ആണ് ആവശ്യമായിട്ടുള്ളത്. ലിങ്ക് തുറക്കുമ്പോൾ ലഭ്യമാകുന്നപേജിൽ  സ്കൂൾ ടൈപ്പ് ,സ്കൂൾ കോഡ് എന്നിവ നൽകി സേർച്ച് ബട്ടൺ അമർത്തിയാൽ താഴെ ഈ വിവരങ്ങൾ കാണാവുന്നത് ആണ്.

3. Kfon ബോക്സിനുള്ളിലെ ethernet cable (മോഡം കമ്പ്യൂട്ടർ എന്നിവ ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള  wire) ന്റെ ഒരു ഭാഗം മോഡത്തിലെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ പോർട്ടിലും , കേബിളിന്റെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ ഭാഗം ലാപ്പ്ടോപ്പിലും ഘടിപ്പിക്കുക.

4.അതിന് ശേഷം Applications -System tools- Preferences- Settings എന്ന ക്രമത്തിൽ തുറക്കുക.

5. അതിൽ നിന്നും Network സെലെക്ട് ചെയ്യുക.

6.തുടർന്ന് Wired - connected എന്നതിന് മുന്നിലുള്ള ഗിയർ ഐക്കണിൽ (settings icon) ക്ലിക്ക് ചെയ്യുക.

തുറന്ന് വരുന്ന വിൻഡോയിലെ IPv4 ൽ ക്ലിക്ക് ചെയ്യുക.

IPv4 Method എന്നുള്ളത് Manual സെലക്ട് ചെയ്യുക.

നേരത്തെ ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ip അഡ്രസ് Address എന്ന കോളത്തിൽ നൽകുക.

തുടർന്ന് Gateway, Subnet mask എന്നിവയും അതാത് കോളങ്ങളിൽ നൽകേണ്ടതാണ്. DNS എന്ന കോളത്തിൽ 8.8.8.8 എന്ന്  നൽകുക.

APPLY ബട്ടണിൽ ക്ലിക്ക് ചെയ്യുക

7.കംപ്യൂട്ടർ റീസ്റ്റാർട്ട് ചെയ്യുക.

തുടർന്ന് ടെർമിനൽ തുറന്ന് താഴെ കാണുന്ന കമാൻഡ് ടൈപ്പ് ചെയ്യുക.

ping 8.8.8.8 

(Applications – Accesories - Terminal എന്ന ക്രമത്തിൽ ടെർമിനൽ തുറക്കാവുന്നത് ആണ്)

കമാൻഡ് ടൈപ്പ് ചെയ്തതിന് ശേഷം enter key അമർത്തുക 

താഴെ കാണുന്ന സ്ക്രീൻ പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെടുകയാണെണെങ്കിൽ ഇന്റർനെറ്റ് ലഭ്യമാകുന്നത് ആയിരിക്കും.

8.Host  unreachable ,Net unreachable എന്നീ മെസ്സേജുകൾ ആണ്  വരുന്നത് എങ്കിൽ മാക് ചെയ്യാത്തത് കൊണ്ടായിരിക്കും.ആയതിനാൽ 04842911970 എന്ന നമ്പറിൽ ബന്ധപ്പെടേണ്ടതാണ് . കാൾ ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ Reference ID ചോദിക്കുന്നതാണ്. അത് തുടക്കത്തിൽ പറഞ്ഞ കെഫോൺ സ്റ്റാറ്റസ് വിവരങ്ങളിൽ ലഭ്യമാണ്. അല്ലെങ്കിൽ കെഫോൺ ബോക്സിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുള്ള അഞ്ചക്ക നമ്പർ നോക്കുക.

ഉബുണ്ടു 18.04 ഇൻസ്റ്റോൾ ചെയ്‌ത Hp ലാപ്പിൽ വൈഫൈ ലഭിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ

ചെയ്യേണ്ട  പരിഹാരമാർഗ്ഗങ്ങൾ

സിസ്റ്റം റീസ്റ്റാർട്ട് ചെയ്യുക. f10 key പ്രെസ്സ്  ചെയ്ത്  ബയോസിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കുക . വയർലെസ്സ് നെറ്റ് വർക്ക് ഓഫ്‌ ആണെങ്കിൽ ഓൺ ചെയ്യുക .തുടർന്ന്  f10 കീ പ്രസ് ചെയ്തു സേവ് ചെയ്യുക. അതിന് ശേഷം, കംപ്യൂട്ടറിന്റെ ഹോം ഫോൾഡറിൽ പോയി ടെർമിനൽ തുറക്കുക.

അതിന്  മുൻപായി GitHub  സൈറ്റിൽ അക്കൗണ്ട് ക്രിയേറ്റ് ചെയ്യുക.തുടർന്ന് സൈൻ ഇൻ ചെയ്യുക. Github link

താഴെ കാണുന്ന കമാൻഡ്കൾ ഓരോന്നായി ടെർമിനലിൽ ടൈപ്പ് ചെയ്യുക.എന്റർ കീ അമർത്തുക.പ്രത്യേകം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക  ഒരു  കമാൻഡ്  നൽകി പ്രോസസ്സ് പൂർത്തിയായാൽ മാത്രമേ അടുത്ത കമാൻഡ് നൽകാനുള്ള കമാൻഡ് ലൈൻ പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെടുകയുള്ളൂ.പാസ്സ്‌വേർഡ് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടാൽ അത് നൽകുക .താഴെ കാണുന്ന കമാൻഡ്കൾ കോപ്പി പേസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്‌താൽ മതി.

Method 3
മുകളിലുള്ള മാർഗങ്ങൾ  പരാജയപ്പെട്ടാൽ താഴെ കാണുന്ന രീതി സ്വീകരിക്കാവുന്നത് ആണ് .അതിന് മുൻപ് ഹോം ഫോൾഡറിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ച് കൺട്രോൾ , എച്ച് (Ctrl+H) എന്നീ കീകൾ ഒന്നിച്ച് പ്രെസ്സ് ചെയ്യുക. തുടർന്ന് rtlwifi എന്ന പേരിൽ കാണുന്ന ഫോൾഡർ ഡിലീറ്റ് ചെയ്യുക.
തുടർന്ന്  താഴെ കാണുന്ന കമാൻഡ്കൾ ഓരോന്നായി ടെർമിനലിൽ ടൈപ്പ് ചെയ്യുക.എന്റർ കീ അമർത്തുക.

ബയോസിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കുക .Secure boot ഓഫ് ചെയ്യുക .തുടർന്ന്  f10 കീ പ്രസ് ചെയ്തു സേവ് ചെയ്യുക.തുടർന്ന് അൽപ്പസമയത്തിനകം  സ്‌ക്രീനിൽ തെളിഞ്ഞു വരുന്ന പാസ് കോഡ് ടൈപ്പ് ചെയ്ത്  enter key  പ്രസ് ചെയ്യുക.........

ശ്രെദ്ധിക്കേണ്ട കാര്യങ്ങൾ

1.നെറ്റ് വർക്ക് കേബിൾ മുഖേന ലാപ്പിൽ ഇന്റർനെറ്റ് ലഭ്യമാക്കിയിരിക്കണം.
2 .ടെർമിനൽ താഴെ പറയുന്ന ക്രമത്തിലും തുറക്കാവുന്നതാണ് (Applications > Accessories >Terminal).
3.കമാൻഡ്കൾ  ഒന്നിച്ചല്ല  ടൈപ്പ് ചെയ്യേണ്ടത് , ആദ്യം ഒന്നാമത്തെ കമാൻഡ് ടൈപ്പ് ചെയ്യുക enter key പ്രസ് ചെയ്യുക,അതിന്റെ റിസൾട്ട്  വന്നതിനുശേഷം ആണ് അടുത്ത കമാൻഡ് നൽകേണ്ടത് .
3.കമാൻഡുകൾ കോപ്പി പേസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്ത് ഉപയോഗിക്കുക.ഇല്ലെങ്കിൽ തെറ്റിപ്പോകാൻ സാധ്യതയുണ്ട്.
